Meet Jodie – Paramedic and consistent gym goer

Jodie has always had a passion for fitness. In her 20s, you’d find her racing down roads or tackling endurance mountain bike trails. Competitive cycling was her thing.  But when she started her family, fitness took on a new form. That’s when her gym journey began.

Fast forward to now, and Jodie is one of the most inspiring members at Tribe.

With 18 years as a paramedic, she’s seen it all and it’s made one thing crystal clear: your health is everything. “I see firsthand what happens when people don’t look after themselves,” she says. “I don’t want to be the 80-year-old with the walker. I want to be fit, strong and independent.”

Jodie trains for two main reasons:
1. Her job is physical – she needs strength and stamina to do it well and avoid injury.
2. Mental health – training is her way to reset, recharge and switch off.

As a shift worker, she gets how hard it can be to stay consistent. But with a little planning and a lot of determination, she shows up for herself.

Tribe has become her happy place. Whether it’s Spin, Circuit, Weights, Boxing or Reformer, she loves the variety. And since discovering the Wellness Space at Kirrawee, she’s fully embraced that side of her health too. “It’s my one hour a day to top up my own cup. I walk in, meet someone new, have a chat, and always leave feeling amazing.”

“Over the years, I’ve made the most incredible network of friends at Tribe. There’s so much support. The vibe is welcoming, the energy is uplifting, and there’s zero judgement. Oh, and once the coffee shop opens at Tribe Kirrawee, I may never leave”.
