Read below the impact that our Lads Night had on Triber, Dave Ward, owner of local business Sweat Chill Exhale.
My fitness journey started a few years back, never really being into the fitness scene but with a growing family, I wanted to be a role model for my children & be able to keep up with them.
So after many failed attempts of trialling new gyms in the area, I found I just couldn’t fit in. Lots of gyms have clicks with the cool kids or you just felt like a number so I started training at home, online which was great at the beginning.
Then a friend, Jarrod invited me to Tribe’s Lads Night, a specific night held as a men’s mental health initiative. Reluctant to go at first, he told me “What do I have to lose? 2 hours?”
On the night, standing out the front, my friend text me saying his kids were sick, he can’t come. I nearly went home but I’m so glad I didn’t. Not knowing anyone I was nervous walking in but straight away I noticed no clicks, no cool kids & there was community spirit. As I was standing awkwardly by myself, a few of the trainers noticed & started introducing me to people and making me feel comfortable & a part of the group. I joined Tribe straight after that session was finished. I thought to myself, after training with 100 guys that I’d never met before…that place is different!
Yes, my fitness levels improved but being part of a community like Tribe you grow in confidence not only in the gym but in life, as soon as you walk in the doors at Tribe your energy and mood go to a better place.
This has changed my life significantly
I’ve always felt like I wanted to do something cool or different with my life but never had the strength or confidence to do so. After being with Tribe for my first year I changed a career of 23 years & opened my own business. I truly believe that the confidence gained from being part of such a special Gym has allowed me to chase my dreams. This is what being part of a community can do. This is what being around motivated like-minded people can do.
Tribe has literally changed my life.
Lads Night 22nd November 2024 – 6pm. All welcome.
