Sue‘s transformation is outstanding. For Sue, the change to her life is more than just the weight loss. Sue shares, ‘over the past 10 years I’ve had both hips replaced, a left knee replacement and managed to smash my big toe by dropping a filing cabinet on it (ouch). Daily tasks like putting a sock on couldn’t be done without sitting down and bending my leg backward, tying shoelaces was a nightmare and putting stockings on……well this was virtually impossible. I had no flexibility whatsoever. None!’.
Read Sue’s story here. Her life has completely changed.
Well done Sue, we love your smile and positive energy.
12 months ago, she walked into Tribe weighing in at 70kg. In 12 months she is now 58kg and rocking a bikini for the first time is 15 years. None!’. Guys, I’m even going to share I couldn’t wear a skirt or dress in Summer without chaffing – gosh I’m grateful this has changed’.
Sue is an active 65 year old. ‘Before Tribe, purely due to my age (so I thought), I started getting a ‘turkey neck’ and drooping underarms’, but not now, it’s all reversed. Well, I still have a little bit of work do to on my arms, but Amy and I are working on this’.
Sue does Personal Training with Amy twice a week, 2 pilates classes, a Lift class, a TBC and a spin if she can fit it in. I remember my first day at Tribe a trainer sat me down and spoke to me about my food. I eat more now than I did back then, but I’m making and eating the right choices.
Sue’s transformation has seen her shed 12kgs in 12 months and drop to a comfortable size 8. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I’ve had to replace my entire wardrobe from size 12-14 to 8-10’s. Oh, but I’m grateful (and so is her husband Rick) that my feet haven’t shrunk…ha, ha!’. For those who know Sue, she is known for her many, many, many gorgeous shoes. Actually, the name Shoe (rather than Sue) has often been heard. ‘When I smashed my toe, from that damn filing cabinet, I had to wear a big boot’. But in typical Sue style, it didn’t remain an ordinary ‘big boot’ for long, she put bling all over it.
Sue shares she first came to Tribe through a friend Cathy who is also another loved Triber. Sue says ‘I’ve met lots of great friends here at Tribe. There is a bunch of us that catch up for coffee, we go to lunch every month or so, but my favourite is the Christmas catch up. Great laughs with great company. Sue is a ‘Toastmaster’ and has held several National and International roles, so when she shared ‘I’ve always lived my life with values and these values are respect, responsibility and rewards’, it’s no wonder she has achieved outstanding results. Sue says, as an A class fitness facility, Tribe displays all these values and more and I’m really grateful to be a part of this.
Sue has been thrown some challenges in her life, with the most recent, her husband Rick battling cancer. Sue shares ‘Rick has a positive outlook and a great attitude and together with the support of many family and friends, we are managing his condition’. Despite these set backs, Sue appreciates Tribe as it is ‘me time, it’s a chance for me to catch up with great friends, let out any frustrations and get the adrenalin going – importantly it’s a way for me to balance my life and cope. It’s what helps me to be physically, mentally and emotionally balanced’.
There are many reasons that Sue loves Tribe, but a few outstanding reasons are ‘everyone knows your name (I’m talking about ALL the trainers and many members). The trainers are outstanding. I do PT with Amy, but I can be in Ben’s Lift class and he will walk up to me and say ‘due to your injury, you aren’t to do this exercise, I want you to do this instead’. And the motivation is outstanding ‘if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you’ (we do listen to you Paddy).
Sue, your transformation has been outstanding. You look absolutely fabulous. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you share with our Tribers, we love having you here.
